Less Pain at the Pump: The 2018 Ford F-150 Brings Improved Efficiency

The 2018 Ford F-150 will bring a lot of great features to the table. Fuel efficiency probably isn't one you'd expect. Trucks, after all, tend not to be the go-to for drivers interested in an efficient driving experience. Even so, if you want a truck that guzzles less gas, the new F-150 will have some engine options to interest you.

The 3.3-liter V6, for instance, will be able to achieve 19/25/22 MPG. That's a one MPG improvement when compared to the 3.5-liter engine it's replacing from the 2017 F-150. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 will likewise offer 20/26/22 MPG, again a significant improvement over the 2017 truck.

These ratings do fall some when you're using four-wheel drive options. Even so, these new engines represent significant improvements and, hopefully, an increasing trend of fuel efficiency in trucks.
