Ford Joins Forces with Domino's to Study the Future of Pizza Delivery

Ford and Domino's Pizza have united to work on developing a future that's enabled by smart vehicles that operate in a smart environment to enrich people's lives. With researchers from both companies studying customers' interactions with a self-driving vehicle, both Ford and Domino's hope to gain a better understanding of how to best implement the use of self-driving vehicles for delivering food.

During this limited time test, randomly-selected Domino's customers living in the Ann Arbor, MI, area will be provided with the opportunity to have their order delivered using a Ford Fusion Hybrid Autonomous Research Vehicle that's piloted by a Ford safety engineer. Customers who opt to take part in the study may track their delivery vehicle via GPS, and once the vehicle draws near they'll receive a text message that explains how they can use their unique code to unlock the Domino's Heatwave Compartment™ inside the vehicle and retrieve their pizza.
